Our business was founded by myself, Pamela, because after working retail for 10 years, I decided that it did not pay to send my 2 young children to daycare while I worked. I was working to pay for daycare! I then worked a year at Peterson Smith Equine Hospital in Ocala,Fl. as a vet Tech on the night shift. Although I loved this job, it too left me tired and unable to spend the time I wanted with my family.
I sold my horse and decided to be a stay at home mom. I began to notice through friends that there was no local, reasonably priced transport. I had always transported my own horses, I had no idea how expensive it was to ship a horse locally, if you could find a shipper to do it. That is how our business came to be. The name of the business was formed from my two children "B"rittany and "B"randen. We are family and horsemen first, not truckers. My children, husband and dog's can be seen with me on most trips.
I wanted to provide on the spot moves at a reasonable rate. Working retail also taught me how important customer service is. With us, you will always be treated with the utmost respect, and your horse will be treated with nothing but kindness, and compassion. Afterall, horses are our passion.
We specialize in small local transport in the North Central Florida area. Out of State moves can be arranged.
We try to commit to one client at a time, so special care and extra time can be taken with each horse to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for both horse and owner. This helps eliminate the stressful extra stops for the sometimes dangerous loading or unloading of other horses.
We make stops every 2-3 hours to freshen hay, offer water and electrolytes and check on your horses well being. I do not keep water in front of the horses full time. I want to monitor how much they drink, not how much is gone from the bucket due to spilling or playing.
We take pride in the equipment we use. our vehicles are meticulously kept and regular maintenance is performed. Keeping our driver and your horses safe is our #1 priority.
We use a 2 horse, all aluminum, semi stock, slant load step up trailer with a swinging, locking divider, to accommodate larger horses or mares with foals at their side. We have installed a camera system so we can monitor the horses from our vehicle while driving. We feel this trailer is more comfortable for horses in the hot Florida weather. The trailer is generously bedded with fresh shavings to help with sanitary conditions and comfort. If foal transport is needed, the trailer will be rebedded with straw to avoid respiratory problems. The trailer is thoroughly cleaned after each horse is shipped.
If your horse has had problems loading or traveling in the past, please let us know ahead of time. We specialize in cautious loaders, but we can not accommodate them if we do not know before hand. We supply head bumpers, wraps and blankets for your horses comfort and safety.
For those unfortunate late night emergencies, we offer 24 HR Emergency Service to local Vet Clinics and The University in Gainesville.
We are licensed with The State of Florida for Livestock Transport and are DOT compliant.
We have full commercial coverage for both truck and trailer. We suggest that you acquire 3rd party insurance for your horse. We have listed on our links page a few insurance companies for you to contact. We are in no way associated with, nor do we have any interest in any of the companies listed on that page.
